Melisa Mendez (she/her/ella) is a first-generation Mexican-American multidisciplinary artist and photographer from Naples, Florida, currently based in Los Angeles. Her work explores the intersection of empowerment, culture, and feminine identity, inspired from personal experience, heritage, and nostalgic moments.
Working across both digital and analog photography, Melisa’s practice extends beyond the camera to include styling, creative direction, and painting. She approaches each project organically, using these multiple mediums to construct layered visual stories that feel both intimate and bold.
Through intuitive and intentional visual language, she explores self-expression, boldness, resilience, and the evolving narratives of womanhood.
Her work is rooted in cultural pride and creating visual worlds that honor identity, vulnerability, personal symbolism and empowerment, while continuing to expand her artistic practice across disciplines.
